Publisher and developer Dragami Games have announced the Lollipop Chainsaw remake is delayed to next year, news confirmed alongside the game’s official title. We would have loved to have seen a sequel, but if a remaster, or remake, is all we're going to get we would like it to be as close to the original as it can be. Announced by publisher Dragami Games which is led by the original games producer, Yoshimi Yasuda the game will arrive worldwide next year, although a formal title or platforms have not yet been. It's a great first look at what's to come and gives us high hopes that the rest of the game will remain as unchanged as possible. After a tease last month, we have confirmation: Lollipop Chainsaw will receive a full remake in 2023. Juliet looks relatively unchanged, albeit with smoother textures that give her a subtler appearance compared to her previous model. Unfortunately for fans of the series, it also has a delay. The Lollipop Chainsaw developers have issued a new statement sharing their 'thoughts and intentions' for the project, and despite a seemingly earnest attempt to explain why its billed as a remake. There's no word on what platforms the game will be launching on, but it will presumably be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S when it does arrive next year.Fans on Resetera spotted a new year's tweet from Dragami Games that seemingly reveals the new model for the game's protagonist, Juliet Starling, which was swiftly placed into a side-by-side comparison with 2012's Juliet by Twitter user It feels very much like someone took the picture and hit the 'enhance photo' button in their editing app before posting it on Instagram - which, in our eyes, is exactly what we were hoping for! Lollipop Chainsaw, the cult 2012 game about a cheerleader battling zombies while her boyfriend’s disembodied head dangles from her waist, is being remade. There are some changes planned for the series, but following its announcement Dragami Games president Yoshimi Yasuda did put out a statement in an attempt to address any concerns fans might have. A remake of Suda51s cult zombie game Lollipop Chainsaw has been confirmed for release next year. The original released back in 2012, selling around a million units worldwide, a pretty reasonable figure but not one that gave the game much longevity.
